Sunrise Family Photoshoot at D.T. Fleming Beach Park

The Stockton family and I go way back—like, all the way back to their wedding in 2020! Since then, I’ve had the honor of documenting their growing family, from a maternity session in 2022 to this sunrise family photoshoot at D.T. Fleming Beach Park. Now, with baby #2 on the way, we got to capture a little bit of everything: sweet family moments, a sprinkle of maternity, and their adorable son soaking up all the beach vibes. Sunrise was the perfect setting for this—it’s quiet, the light is soft and dreamy, and the sand is untouched (at least until we showed up!). It’s wild watching families grow and being invited to document each chapter—it seriously never gets old.

There’s something about sunrise at D.T. Fleming Beach Park that just hits different. The golden light creeping over the horizon, the calm sound of waves before the beach gets busy—you get to steal these quiet, perfect moments. The Stockton family made the most of it, chasing their little one around the sand (trying to prevent him from eating it) and soaking up all the sweet, candid moments that just can’t be staged. Their toddler’s energy was contagious—running barefoot, grabbing handfuls of sand, and being entirely in the moment while Mom and Dad shared a few quiet kisses. It’s the kind of session that feels more like hanging out than work; honestly, that’s when the best photos happen.
